haven't seen since 1945. sue herrera joins us live from cnbc world headquarters now. good morning, sue. >> good morning, marla. it's been a very rough day on wall street so far. a lot of worries about whether or not the economy is on the brink of going into another recession. a lot of this the actually began yesterday after the federal reserve decided to make one more attempt at spurring demand in the economy. and they released a statement along with their decision to keep interest rates lower. they said there was significant downside risk to the u.s. economy which which was why they were keeping interest rates low. well, wall street didn't like the sound of that, understandably so and it ushered in selling late yesterday afternoon and that has continued today. also, europe is still a worry. their banks are having a lot of troubles as you know, the greek debt situation has not been resolved. so wall street right now, they're heading for the exits. we're down better than 400 points so far today.
11:17 am
>> okay, sue, cnbc world headquarters. checking the forecast now. we're going to send it over to meteorologist christina loren. much cooler day on tap. >> it is going to be significantly cooler today. it already is. especially at the coast. that's where you're going to see the biggest difference. right at the coast, we have that marine layer pushing in and as a result, you're already dropping off by about 13 degrees from this time yesterday. so it all works out like this. low pressure dropping into the bay. that's increasing that onshore flow and bringing in the cloud cover. the next couple days, high pressure finally starts to break down and move to the east, allowing for more of that marine layer to move in each day through saturday. then low pressure crosses right over us as we head through saturday night into the sunday. that's going to bring temps down into the 70s, maybe even a little rain shower activity up in the north bay. right now running much cooler in plays like novato. 13 degrees cooler from 24 hours
11:18 am
ago. 11 cooler in san francisco. and your temperatures are comfortable. we were in the 80s yesterday. 78 in livermore. 93 later on today. 85 in san jose and temperatures staying nice and comfortable through saturday, sunday and monday as low pressure brings in that cool marine air from the pacific. highs in the 60s at the coast and the 70s inland. so really, really dramatic changes as we head through the next few days. this is what we traditionally experience as we transition into fall, first day tomorrow. >> sounds beautiful. thank you very much. alligator skins, travel masks, human skulls? sounds like a sequel to indiana jones. but no, just a few items up for sale at one of the most electic stores in san francisco. >> bob redel takes us window shopping. >> it's about 2 feet long. >> what was probably the world's largest anaconda ever captured at the time. >> after 15 years of traveling to some of the most far away places in the world. >> nagaland. >> to collect all of this tribal art. >> going into nagaland is not

11:20 am
>> yes. yeah, it's right here. no, i'm looking at it. okay. that was whoopi goldberg wondering where her mask is. >> i call it the whoopi goldberg mask from cameroon, north africa. >> i think they finally celebrated when they found out sister act 3 was not coming out. >> people say did you get this on ebay. when i started there was no ebay. >> do you think ebay has hurt new that respect? >> probably to some degree because people have been selling cheap artifacts on ebay for quite some time and ruining the reputation of good stuff. you need to experience these pieces firsthand, touch, feel, smell, even the smell can tell you the age of a piece. >> that's one reason why robert has never set up a website for his store because he does want to encourage people to come inside and experience everything that he has here, but you can find him on facebook. search for the dreaming room gallery. you'll get information on this weekend's sale and the auction
